Coupon Overload!!

Okay so I thought it would be an amazing idea to start saving money. How so? Well my brilliant idea was to start to coupon. Oh yes I was all into the idea of extreme couponing and how I was going to rock this and become one of the best in my area. Well So far I have NOT met this goal, and iv'e been doing it for a month. But I did learn some amazing tips and trick on it and with that I am able to save some money which is the whole idea of doing this!

Sales are a huge part to couponing. Apparently you need to wait til said item goes on sale and then use your coupon with it! sounds easy but trying to keep up with over what ten stores has on sale is very complicated. So what I decided to do is keep up with only the stores I use, granted I won't be able to make it huge, save tons of money and have a stock pile for the army BUT I am able to use these things to my advantage and save money as well as get what I need.

BUY ONLY WHAT YOU USE! This is something I had to stress to myself. Granted you might be able to get diapers for $1.25 a pack, but what use are they if you don't have a baby? You really didn't save money that way, you spent it on something you don't need. So only keep coupons that you know you will use and need. That way you truly are saving money and you don't have useless items at your house.

Always take your coupons with you when you go shopping! Usually I plan what I need and see if I have coupons to match it BUT I always take my coupons with me because I have all these coupons for Items I use and if something is on sale and it can become cheaper then heck yes I'm going to buy it right then and save for later!

Go for shorter lines. Make sure it's a time of the day that no one is really out in your town and that you won't have several people waiting behind you. Also look for a friendly cashier! They make it so much more easier and don't get stressed out with the coupons!

Coupon sites are a big help as well! Find groups on Facebook to help you figure out what you are doing and also see what other people are able to snag, which is a huge help to you as well! I follow several Facebook pages to help me kind of see what's all on sale and to ask any questions I do have.

My first time ever using coupons was at Walmart. I was grocery shopping and I snag a few items that I had coupons for. I have never done this before and the lady who rung me up was not very friendly. Keep in mind I had never done this before! So I wasn't sure if your suppose to give them before or after and the lady thought I was so stupid for asking, rolled her eyes and replied "I can't ring a coupon up on something you haven't" which granted makes sense but she was already upset because I had coupons, It made me feel like a fool but I still used them and save $8! Not a lot BUT I was super proud of myself for saving money. That's a trip to Ellianos!

SO even if you only save .50 your first time your still trying and learning just like me! Together we can become amazing money savers! I'm super excited to see where this takes me and I will post how some ideas on how to sort your coupons in a later post. Well that's all I have for now. A long post about coupons, yep I have completely lost my mind.
